During the artist's honeymoon in Africa, the majesty and grace of its creatures inspired him to sculpt this elegant piece. In this box figurine, the giraffes have stripped the trees of their leaves so that there is no shade for the lion cubs. However, the giraffes know the cubs have full bellies and are no threat, and allow them to take cover from the fierce sun, a moment of harmony in the animal kingdom. The initial 500 pieces have the mouse under the chin of a giraffe. During the moulding process the mouse became nearly unrecognizable so it was moved between the lion’s paws. The piece is marked Harmony Kingdom-Made in England-Friends in High Places-Copyright-1996. It is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
